Selfishness of Singaporeans ♥ 11:33 AM

It never fails to annoy me when Singaporeans act selfishly especially when we want to be a first class country. So much for being economically stable, low crime rates and stuff. How can we be first class country when the people are not acting like well mannered humans. Ok, i'm not hitting out on all Singaporeans, only the ones who are self-centred.

Of course, there will be nice, considerate, friendly people around. But for all i know, taking a NTUC trolley home isn't the most enduring trait that i want to be associate with. Anyway, when your mum send you on an errand which you are reluctant to do, the least you could expect from the supermarket is that when you enter the supermarket, there are trolleys already so that you can purchase 8 loaves of Gardenia Jumbo 600(you know, the larger loaves) and walk to the counter without looking like you sprain your leg or something. Naturally, when i'm checking out my stuff at the cashier, i complained to the aunty manning the cashier. Well, i'm the complain queen what, you got problem is it?

Serene: Aunty, how come all the trolleys are gone? Don't have a lot of people here now what.
Aunty: Aiya, you don't know meh? Those people bring home the trolleys what.
Serene: For what?
Aunty: YOu know hor, my neighbour use the trolley as shoe rack leh.
Serene: (look of disbelief) HUh? Like that also can ah?
Aunty: Ya lor, aiya, is like the one la.

Tip: Sometimes, you got to speak in Singish or the aunties will think that you are stuck ups. I bet the whole aunty community here knows about this problem. Bet the cashier was laughing at me..

What the hell! Can these people please use their brains? Stupid selfish people. Made me lug those loaves of bread around the supermarket until my fingers turned purple. Luckily, i'm strong and not some weak gu niangs(women who can't do tough work)

Oh, some of you would be whining to me "But Serene, those poor aunties' hands will break if they carry those groceries home" or " Ok what, later then they return it also can what".

Oh for goodness sake, let me assure you that the aunties' hands will not break. They can carry one whole load of things home during the year end sales so why can't they do it now? Can you please use your brains??!! Ask them to buy their own trolley if they don't want to carry their groceries home*roll eyes* And if you consider returning the trolley after the person say bye bye to the world, i could hardly consider that returned. Its more like 'because i won't be able to use it that's why i return it'.

On the way home, i seriously contemplating whether to write to the forum in the Straits Time or not. However, i doubt i could put together a letter in proper English after not being in school for a while. Oh well, i suppose blogging is good enough for me.
