Its very upsetting that some people would rather watch movies or go cycling at some park the day before church and not come to church for service because they are tired. I could actually feel my heart crying and weeping for these people. They are the ones who attended theolo and some even graduated. Do you mean that you had learned nothing from theolo? Its just like the pharisees in the bible, lots of education but doing the wrong stuff. Are you one of them?
I understand that all of us need some form of entertainment but if you know that there's service the next morning, then plan your time accordingly. Obviously if you go cycling for the whole of friday, you would of course be too tired at night well, unless you are like Lance Armstrong which you are definitely not. If you can afford time to play, then i believe you will also have enough time for God. Its all in the planning.
I also have my own difficulties. I'm human just like you. You think its easy for me to wake up on weekends. I tell you, i struggle to open my eyes when i wake up. I'm not a morning person and i knew that. So i adjust. One alarm clock is not enough? Then use a few more. Adapt people! instead of giving stupid excuses like i can't wake up. Some times, you say 'oh! I've a headache'. Once or twice is fine but if you are doing that every week, i suggest you see a doctor. Think, how many times you went out with your friends despite the headaches? Have you done the same to God?
And another thing, you don't start looking for God only when you need help or 'feeling empty'. Then when trials and tribulations come and you feel God didn't help you, you start blaming Him fo all the mishaps or even worst, leave Him. Guess what, if you draw near to Him, He will also draw near to you. You might even understand His will. Look at it this way, its like best friends. You can talk until the sky fall down with your best friend then why can't you do it with God? If you treat God as your best friend, you guys may even have telepathy between each other yeah, like in best friends. Even so, human best friends may not be your best friend forever, you or her/he will move on sometimes. Maybe, even cheat on you. Okie, you see the many advantages of having God as your best friend? He won't spread your secrets, leave you(unless you are the one that leave Him) and He got the power to help you.
So what are you waiting for? Go have a long chat with Him to renew your relationship with Him! And hopefully, i see you during services:)
